DAILY EQUITY REPORT-5 APR

INDIAN FACE 

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK edged lower on the last trading day of the week as investors took profit in most blue-chip stocks after nine consecutive days of record highs. This cautious move came ahead of the key US jobs data later in the day. 
 
Further, SRF rose after the company said that five projects at SRF's Chemical Complex at Dahej, Gujarat have been commissioned and capitalized on 31 March 2014. 
 
Shares of Torrent Pharmaceuticals gain after private equity firm ChrysCapital has invested around USD 40 million in company. 
 
GLOBAL FACE 

Asian stock markets traded mixed in quite trade as investors waited for the U.S. labor report later in the day. 
 
European stocks market edged higher, as comments by European Central Bank President Mario Draghi continued to support, while markets awaited U.S. employment data later in the day. 
 
U.S. stocks markets edged lower as investors jumped to the sidelines to await the release of the March jobs report on Friday, which markets hope will reveal how fast the U.S. economy is recovering.

HDIL rallies 30% post Kotak Securities stake buy 
 
Housing Development and Infrastructure (HDIL) has surged over 16% its highest level since March 2013, on back of heavy volumes on the National Stock Exchange.On March 27, 2014 KotakSecurities Ltd. bought 2.13 million shares representing 0.50% stake in HDIL at Rs 51.56 on the NSE. 
 
Crompton Greaves up 2% on USD 29 mn order in Indonesia

Shares of Crompton Greaves jumped over 2 percent as its power transformer plant at Indonesia bagged order worth USD 29 million. As part of the order, it will supply extra high voltage transformers for PT PLN‘s Indonesian electricity transmission network. The order involves supply of 500kV, 275kV and 150kV power transformers, which will be installed across PT PLN’s transmission network in Java and Sumatra island. 
 
Adani Power stock is up 1.7%

Adani Power stock is up 1.7% a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, a global integrated infrastructure player,announced the commissioning of the fourth unit of 660 megawatts (MW) at its power plant at Tiroda in Maharashtra. 
 
Natco Pharma rallies as US PTO rejects Teva's patent reissue application 

Natco Pharma has rallied 7 after the company announced that theUnited States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) has rejected Teva's patent reissue application for Copaxone. The United States PTO issued a final office action rejecting Teva Pharmaceutical'sapplication seeking a reissue of U.S. Patent No. 5,800,808 which was found to be invalid by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in July 2013. 
 
SAIL keeps prices unchanged in April 

 
SAIL (Steel Authority of India) has kept its prices unchanged for themonth of April amid weak demand and appreciation in the value of 
the rupee. Other major steel producers have also kept their prices either unchanged or have increased it to Rs. 750 per tonne cut.
