RBI monetary policy and November auto sales data. Today's consolidation was after its rally in previous two trading sessions.
Sensex 17.47 points to 26145.67 and the NSE Nifty declined 7.45 points to 7935.25 but the BSE Smallcap index outperformed benchmarks, rising 0.8 percent. Even the market breadth was positive as about 1626 shares advanced against 1078 declining shares on the BSE.
The market will also closely watch GDP for July-September quarter and October industrial output data due later today.
