The market has opened on higher terrain.

The Sensex is up 177.15 points or 0.7 percent at 26767.74 and the Nifty is up 47.30 points or 0.59% at 8108.00. About 460 shares have advanced, 76 shares declined, and 22 shares are unchanged.

Tata Motors, Hindalco, Tata Steel, SBI and ONGC are top gainers while GAIL is down 3 percent.

The Indian rupee opened with a marginal gains of 9 paise at 65.56 per dollar against 65.65 Tuesday.
