INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK - 1 Nov 2016

Sensex, Nifty, Midcap consolidate; Eicher, Bharti Infra surge
Equity benchmarks as well as broader markets continued to consolidate due to mixed trade in Asian peers and lack of domestic cues.
The market has opened on tepid note with the Sensex up 10.05 points at 27940.26. The Nifty is up 15.75 points at 8641.45. About 492 shares have advanced, 189 shares declined, and 48 shares are unchanged.
BHEL, Hero MotoCorp, ICICI Bank, Lupin and Adani Ports are top gainers while HUL, ONGC, SBI, Wipro and Dr Reddy's Labs are losers in the Sensex.
The Indian rupee opened higher by 8 paise at 66.71 per dollar versus 66.79 Friday.
"The currencies continue to trade in a very narrow range ahead of the US Presidential election next week. The two-day FOMC starting today is expected to maintain status quo."
Asian stocks wallowed near six-week lows as investors braced for a looming raft of economic and central bank events.

Maruti, Hyundai sell over 45k cars on Dhanteras

The country's top two carmakers Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai said they sold over 45,000 units on Dhanteras today. Maruti Suzuki India   Ltd's deliveries on Dhanteras is expected to be around 30,000 vehicles, a company official said.
"This is around 20 per cent more than last year," the official added. Likewise, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) also reported good sales on Dhanteras, considered auspicious for making new purchases.
"This Dhanteras, the customers have done heightened purchases with deliveries of 15,153 Hyundai cars, growth of 26 percent over last year," HMIL Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing Rakesh Srivastava told PTI. He further said: "We expect to have 50,000-plus deliveries for the full month, making this festival season as the best in the last couple of years." Good monsoons, better consumer sentiments and 7th Pay Commission award have fuelled demand for automobiles.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX NIFTY ENDS FLAT, SENSEX UP 25 POINTS AT 27941 NIFTY 50 AT 8638 UP 22 POINTS
The market ended flat on first day of November Futures & Options (F&O) series. The Sensex ended up 25.61 points at 27941.51 and the Nifty was up 22.75 points or 0.3 percent at 8638.
About 1564 shares have advanced, 1093 shares declined, and 276 shares are unchanged.
Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, Coal India, Tata Steel and Lupin were top gainers while ICICI Bank, Cipla, Bharti, Asian and Infosys were losers

Sensex recovers, Nifty firm above 8600; Tata Motors, DRL lead
Equity benchmarks recovered early losses with the Nifty rising over 8600 level on first day of November series. Select Tata Group stocks like Tata Motors (up 2.6 percent) and Tata Steel (up 1.7 percent) rebounded sharply on short covering after sharp sell-off in previous three consecutive sessions due to Tata-Mistry issue.
Tech Mahindra maintained its rally of 6 percent after strong dollar revenue growth of 5 percent QoQ in constanct currency.
The market has opened lower as the Sensex is down 82.48 points or 0.3 percent at 27833.42. The Nifty is down 18.60 points or 0.2 percent at 8596.65. About 557 shares have advanced, 268 shares declined, and 48 shares are unchanged.

Sensex, Nifty, Midcap under pressure; Maruti at record high
Equity benchmarks as well as broader markets continued to trade lower with the Nifty struggling below 8600 ahead of expiry of October derivative contracts.
ITC and HDFC rebounded after falling yesterday due to earnings. HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, SBI and HUL were down 1-2 percent.
The market has opened in red dragged by September Futures and Options (F&O) expiry jitters and Tata group stocks weakness. The Sensex is down 70.51 points or 0.2 percent at 27766.00, and the Nifty is down 27.50 points or 0.3 percent at 8587.75.
ITC, Asian Paints, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma and Hero MotoCorp are gainers while Tata Motors, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, TCS and Bharti are losers in the Sensex.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX TANKS 255 POINTS, NIFTY 50 ENDS BELOW 8650
Dragged by weak earnings the market has ended lower. The Sensex closed down 254.91 points or 0.9 percent at 27836.51 and the Nifty slipped 76.05 points or 0.9 percent at 8615.25.
About 1187 shares have advanced, 1587 shares declined, and 240 shares are unchanged. Hero MotoCorp, Bharti Airtel, Maruti, HUL and Dr Reddy's Labs were gainers while Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank and Adani Ports were losers in the Sensex.

Sensex sinks 200 pts, Nifty holds 8600; Bharti, Hero top gainers
Equity benchmarks fell further with the Sensex shedding more than 200 points on global weakness. Banking & financials drove the market lower whereas telecom and select auto stocks gained.
Bharti Airtel was the biggest gainer, up nearly 3 percent after its profit in Q2 beat analysts' expectations at Rs 1,461 crore and margin expansion continued for fourth consecutive quarter.
The market has opened lower dragged by weak earnings. the Sensex is down 194.67 points or 0.7 percent at 27896.75 and the Nifty is down 60.15 points or 0.7 percent at 8631.15. About 430 shares have advanced, 604 shares declined, and 69 shares are unchanged.

Nifty breaks 8700, Sensex falls over 100 pts; HDFC twins drag
Equity benchmarks extended losses in morning trade with the Nifty falling below the 8700 level due to profit booking.Sensex was down 127.57 points at 28051.51 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 34.65 points to 8674.30.
Tata Group stocks remained under pressure after Tata Sons sacked Cyrus Mistry as chairman on Monday. Tata Steel, TCS and Tata Motors were down 1-2 percent.
The market has opened in red with focus in Tata group stocks. The Sensex is down 24.28 points at 28154.80 and the Nifty is down 2.35 points at 8706.60. About 615 shares have advanced, 309 shares declined, and 59 shares are unchanged.

Sensex consolidates, Nifty hovers around 8700; IT stocks slip
The market has opened flat with positive bias Monday. The Sensex is up 57.69 points or 0.2 percent at 28134.87 and the Nifty is up 14.35 points or 0.2 percent at 8707.40. About 238 shares have advanced, 49 shares declined, and 14 shares are unchanged.

Wipro Q2 profit up 0.9%, Q3 dollar revenue guidance disappoints

Software services provider Wipro   on Friday has reported a 0.9 percent growth in consolidated profit at Rs 2,070.4 crore for the second quarter (July-September) on sequential basis.
Consolidated revenue during the quarter increased 1.5 percent to Rs 13,896.8 crore compared with Rs 13,697.6 crore in preceding period.
Dollar revenue from IT services segment, which the street closely tracks, declined 0.8 percent quarter-on-quarter to USD 1,916.3 million in September quarter but grew by 0.9 percent in constant currency.
"We delivered revenues in constant currency at the top end of guidance range," Abidali Z Neemuchwala, chief executive officer said in its filing. The company had expected dollar revenue growth of 0-1 percent in constant currency for Q2.
Dollar revenue missed analysts' estimates but the same in constant currency was slightly above expectations. According to analysts polled by CNBC-TV18, dollar revenue growth estimated at 0.4 percent and constant currency at 0.5-0…
