INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ENDS DOWN 144 POINTS, NIFTY 50 BELOW 8900

The market failed to hold 52-week high touched in early trade Thursday as the Nifty closed below 8900 on profit booking.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 144.70 points at 28839.79 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 46.05 points to 8899.75. About two shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 8970 and above this 9020 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 8865 and next support will be 8808.
