INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ENDS ON POSITIVE NOTE, NIFTY ABOVE 9500

On the expiry day of June F&O series, benchmark indices ended on a positive note, with the Nifty ending just above 9500-mark. Both Sensex and the Nifty had gained strong during the course of the day, only to trim them into the final hours of trade.

The Sensex closed up 23.20 points at 30857.52, while the Nifty ended 12.85 points higher at 9504.10. The market breadth was positive as 1597 shares advanced against a decline of 980 shares, while 162 shares were unchanged.
Axis Bank, Tata Steel and Vedanta were the top gainers, while Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tata Motors DVR lost the most.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 9560 and above this 9630. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 9472 and next support will be 9420.
