INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ENDS IN RED, NIFTY ENDS UP FLAT AFTER TOUCHING 10K LEVEL

After witnessing a gap-up opening and touching a fresh high of over 10,000 in the opening tick, benchmark indices ended the session in the red, while the Nifty ended flat.

The Sensex was down 17.60 points at 32228.27, while the Nifty was down 1.85 points at 9964.55. The market breadth was negative as 1193 shares advanced against a decline of 1480 shares, while 169 shares were unchanged.

Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Vedanta and Indiabulls Housing gained the most, while Lupin, Tata Motors DVR, Zee Entertainment and UltraTech Cement were the top losers.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 9985 and above this 10025 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 9900 and next support will be 9840.
