INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ENDS DOWN 27 POINTS, NIFTY ENDS DOWN FLAT

Volatility gripped D-Street on Tuesday as benchmark indices ended the session in the red after staging a sharp intraday recovery.
The Sensex closed down 26.87 points at 31599.76, while the Nifty was down 1 points at 9871.5. About 1,524 shares advanced, 997 shares declined, and 166 shares were unchanged.

ONGC, Tata Steel and Vedanta were the top gainers on both indices, while HUL, Dr Reddy’s, Bharti Infratel and BPCL lost the most.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 9942 and above this 10010. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 9830 and next support will be 9775.
