INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX NIFTY ENDS ON A WEAK NOTE, NIFTY HOLDS 10100

Equity benchmarks had a weak day of trade as both of them ended on a weak note, but the Nifty settled above 10,100-mark.

The Sensex closed down 30.47 points at 32370.04, while the Nifty ended down by 19.25 points at 10121.90. The market breadth was negative as 993 shares advanced against a decline of 1,557 shares, while 159 shares were unchanged.
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla, Lupin and Sun Pharma were the top gainers on both indices, while ICICI Bank, Tata Motors DVR, Zee Entertainment and GAIL lost the most.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 10175 and above this 10240. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 10060 and next support will be 9980.
