The S&P BSE Sensex ended a volatile trading session at 41,115.38 level, down 208.43 points or 0.50 per cent on the back of cuts in blue chip companies like HDFC twins, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuk, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. At close, ONGC, NTPC, and Maruti Suzuki, down between 2 and 5 per cent, were the top drags on the Sensex, while Nestle India, TCS, and Infosys were the top gainers. Sensex hit a low of 41,301.63.

U.S. Market – The US equity market finished session lower for the first time in six consecutive sessions on Tuesday, 21 January 2020.Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 152.06 points, or 0.52%, to 29,196.04, ending its five-day streak of gains. The S&P 500 index fell 8.83 points, or 0.27%, to 3,320.79 and the Nasdaq Composite index was down 18.14 points, or 0.19%.
European markets- European markets muted as investors track coronavirus and earnings; DAX touches record high.
