INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK
The S&P BSE Sensex plummeted 188.26 points, or 0.46 percent, to end at 40,966.86 level. Bharti Airtel (down 4 percent), Tata Steel (4 percent), and Reliance Industries (3 percent) were the top laggards at the 30-share index. On the upside, HDFC (1.6 percent), Bajaj Finance (1.3 percent), and Sun Pharma (1 percent) were the top gainers. In the intra-day trade, the Sensex hit a low of 40,869.75.

Asian Market- Asian stocks are hammered again by virus fears. US and European markets are recovering. South Korea's Kospi (KOSPI) shed 3.1% during its first day of trading following the Lunar New Year. Japan's Nikkei 225 (N225), which did not close for the holiday, slumped 0.6%. Markets in Shanghai and Hong Kong remains closed.
U.S. Market – US stock futures were also higher, with the NASDAQ poised to gain the most. US markets closed down sharply on Monday. The Dow (INDU) fell 454 points, or 1.6%, its worst one-day percentage loss since October. The S&P 500 (SPX) and Nasdaq Composite (COMP) lost 1.6% and 1.9%, respectively.
European markets- London's FTSE 100 (UKX), Frankfurt's DAX (DAX) and the CAC 40 (CAC40) in Paris — added roughly 0.5% in early trade.
