INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK
Halting its four-day gaining streak, equity market ended in the negative territory on Friday amid worries over economic damage from the coronavirus outbreak and profit-booking in some of the recent outperformers.
The S&P BSE Sensex today slipped 164 points or 0.4 per cent to settle at 41,142, with NTPC (up over 3 per cent) being the top gainer and IndusInd Bank (down nearly 3 per cent) the biggest loser.

Asian Market- Asian markets slip ahead of Chinese trade data Japan’s Nikkei NIK, -0.19% slipped 0.2%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index HSI, -0.33% dipped 0.8%. The Shanghai Composite SHCOMP, +0.33% fell 0.6%, about the same as the smaller-cap Shenzhen Composite 399106, +0.52%. South Korea’s Kospi 180721, -0.72% dropped 1%, while benchmark indexes in Taiwan Y9999, -1.16% , Singapore STI, -1.55% , Malaysia FBMKLCI, +0.11% and Indonesia JAKIDX, +0.21% were mixed. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 XJO, -0.38% declined 0.6%.
U.S. Market- US futures point to a pullback at the open, ending a four-day winning streak. U.S. stock index futures were lower Friday morning, erasing some gains following a four-day winning streak on Wall Street.
European markets- Dow futures indicated a drop of more than 135 points at the open. Futures on the S&P and Nasdaq were both slightly lower
